Faced with rubble and a disorganised tribe and enemies nipping at his heels Nehemiah is right in the middle of his greatest challenge yet. Jerusalem was considered the Holy city and was very important to the Jewish people. To have itâs wall in rubble was not just a great shame but it also left the people exposed to their enemies and danger. In chapters 3&4 of Nehemiah we explore the calling upon his life - how God through his faithfulness calls him into the greatest challenge of his life. We see firsthand the depth of Nehemiahâs spiritual strength as he calls for the dedication of the work. Then as he manages people who simply refuse to work. He remains calm and steadfast as he faces great opposition not just from his enemies but even the people he is trying to help. Nehemiah is not overwhelmed by the task and never sways from his call from God as he sets about rebuilding this city.
