Guest Speakers

Sarah McCutcheon, Global Leadership Network - NextGen

Sarah was called into missions as a teenager and has over two decades of experience in Youth Engagement. She is passionate about seeing young people understand the gospel and become missional thinkers in all spheres of society, which ignites worldwide societal transformation. Her roles include pioneering service trips for teenagers and skateboard teams and directing a citywide community development initiative. Sarah is a highly sought-after international speaker and educator in youth culture, Generation Z and youth leadership. She also owns the ethical clothing brand Straya Shirts and is the author of The Relationship Status.

Andy Gourley, Red Frogs

Andy Gourley will challenge how you think about young people today and how you can influence their culture. Andy started the Red Frog Program in 1997 after seeing the desperate need for a chaplaincy service to safeguard teenagers at Schoolies celebrations. Red Frogs is now the largest support network in Australia for schoolies, festivals, and university students, and it also supports sports and skateboarding events. The Red Frog Chaplaincy program coordinates over 4000 volunteers to run its programs. Andy has developed the Red Frog program internationally, and now froggers can be found in Canada, the UK, South Africa, Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

Steve Chong, RICE Movement

RICE Movement is a catalytic Christian non-profit organisation on a mission to transform the lives of young people and mobilise the next generation for Kingdom Mission. Over the past two decades, we have embarked on an incredible journey of faith, growth, and impact, driven by our unwavering passion for sharing the gospel. Founded in 2002 in Sydney, Australia, Steve and Naomi formed the RICE Movement to share the gospel of Jesus. Initially starting with only six youth groups and around 120 people, RICE grew to involve thousands of young people in what was known as Australia's most prominent Asian youth movement.

Commissioner Miriam Gluyas

My favourite roles have been being a corps planter, corps officer, and Chief Secretary in PNG. I love the people of the nations! I have also loved my time as a DYS, and Divisional and Territorial roles. The people that I have met along the journey have made it an amazing experience.  The rallying cry in these days will be…Jesus centred, Spirit led, Hope revealed. Believing big!!  In a post covid, post Christian, postmodern world, I have watched God do some amazing things, in my last appointment. The days have changed. We must be the church. Jesus centred, Spirit led, Hope revealed will be key in these days. God is up to something very good.  Let's join Him in that. As Catherine Booth said,” There is no improving the future, without disturbing the present “.
