MYANMAR PRE-MISSION TOUR CONCERT & VISIT TO MORELAND CITY CORPS
The MSS were at Moreland City Corps for a day of musical & spiritual preparation prior to our Pre-Mission Tour concert with the Victorian Chin Baptist Choir. The choir, which was made up of approx 40 young people with Myanmar heritage, joined with the MSS and were a blessing in abundance. The fundraiser concert was in support of our 14-day mission trip to Singapore and Myanmar in April. We will share in worship and concert over the Easter weekend in a variety of places in Singapore and then fly to Myanmar, where we will have the privilege of running a Gospel & Creative Arts Camp for 80 young adults with a variety of electives led by our talented MSS members. These young adults have been specially selected, as they would not normally be able afford to attend such an event in this country.
The Victorian Chin Baptist Choir brought two brackets to the concert and they sang two songs in their native language. The MSS sang “Would you be free from the burden of sin” in Mizo, which was able to be easily understood according to the feedback from those who use this language. The congregation was impacted by the singing, as well as the Easter drama monologues that were shared "At the Cross". It was a great night of choral singing in praise of God's greatness.
On Sunday the MSS shared in worship and fellowship at the Moreland City Corps. An interactive children's feature based on the promises of God was a highlight for both children and adults alike. Major Mark Soeters gave the Bible message entitled, New life is the sign of God at work, based on the miraculous story of Aaron's budding staff.
Following the worship service we shared a rich time of fellowship over lunch with the corps folk and were truly enriched beyond measure.
