NBC Mission Team
Russell Woodford
I am enjoying worshipping God with my extended family here at the wonderful NBC. I’ve recently returned to Brisbane after many years in Victoria. My wife Kylie is part of the Worship Team and we both enjoy working with the AV team. I think the best things about NBC are the friendliness, the solid Bible teaching, and the great music. But the main reason we are at NBC is that we believe we can make a real difference - to ourselves, to our families, to our community - by seeking hope, freedom and transformation through Jesus.
David Head
I have been attending NBC for over 30 years and am very passionate about serving God in this church. I have been involved in leadership in several ministries over the years. My spiritual gifts are teaching and serving. I enjoy spending time with family, am a keen gardener, and in retirement love to get away on holidays especially in our caravan.
Elaine Head
I have been attending NBC for many years and my ministry at the moment is Co-ordinator of our NBC Connections Team. I am passionate about getting to know new people to our church and helping them to integrate into our church family. I am a wife to David and mother of two awesome adult men and grandmother to 3 beautiful grand-daughters. Now in my retirement years – I love to holiday in our caravan.

I am a fun guy and I love my family. I'm calm, relaxed and content with life! I want to help kids become best friends with Jesus!
Shyamika Kurukulasooriya
I attend NBC with my family in Brisbane. I love the opportunities to get involved and that it is a local church in my community. I have decided to follow Jesus and there is no turning back. I can trust Him to work out all things for my best and for His glory. Come to the Lord Jesus, He is Good, He is Merciful, He is Love.
Karyn Woodford
Hi! I'm Karyn. I live with my cat, Glitch. When I'm not doing things at church, you will find me drinking coffee with friends or doing trivia quizzes, sudokus or crosswords, or reading sci-fi/fantasy novels. I am passionate about helping people understand God's word and my dream is to see NBC as a church full of disciples making disciples, impacting the world for God. I have a Master of Divinity and have said that's enough study for me. Or is it? Watch this space.
Lucas Daly
I have been coming to NBC since 2015. I have a passion for all things tech and am part of our AV team. I am also a youth leader and love seeing young people connecting with Jesus. I love Star Wars, Nike sneakers and my wife Lis, although maybe not in that order.
Sharon Cottam
I am so honoured to be serving on the NBC Mission Team. I hold a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting), Diploma of Loss Adjusting and certificates in Logistics, and Project Management. I believe my skills in administration, strategic planning and project management can be used to contribute to the direction and growth of NBC. I have been attending NBC since 2006 - and it was here that I gave my life to Jesus. This is my home and I am passionate about seeing NBC succeed in doing Kingdom work.
Arabella Holley
Hey hey! I'm Arabella but you are more than welcome to call me Belle. I am a major fan of all things musical, movie and book related, with a hint of coffee added. It will be very rare to see me without a good book nearby. I adore my family both relative and church and would be more than happy to have a chat with anyone and everyone. I have a passion for bringing the younger generations to Christ in a fun and inclusive environment. If you have any good book recommendations let me know! God Bless :)

Hi I’m Vicky. I’m married to Jeff and have 2 girls. I love Christmas. Every year we do Christmas lights and I love seeing the joy it brings.
Scott Allen
I'm Scott & there are many things that make me uniquely me! Being married to Sharon, we have 2 adult daughters who are both married and we are now blessed with 2 beautiful grandsons. I love getting out with my camera enjoying God's creation and capturing what I see for others to enjoy. The other part of God's creation that I love is the wonderful gift of coffee beans - especially sharing it over a conversation. I'm passionate about sharing with people the Word of God and His amazing love for each person. Mix in with that a love of NRL, AFL, NFL & getting out for a bike ride or a run - all of those things make me uniquely me!

I love to spend time and have fun with family and friends. I have two adult daughters who have both recently had their first babies so I am now a Mimi to two gorgeous grandsons. My background is in primary school teaching before stepping in to fulltime ministry. I love the spontaneity and honesty of little children and I find them energising (most of the time). I love to build relationships with people and to share the journey of life. My favourite question is "where have you seen God at work?"

Alex Scott
I have had a professional career in NSW Department of Education and held the position as Deputy Director General with responsibility for NSW Education Human Resources, Finance, Property assets, Legal and Industrial Relations. In more recent years, I held the position of Principal of a self-established company providing training and development and consultancy in leadership, management, organisational and cultural change.
Chris Easton
I am the Managing Director, Owner and Principal Building Surveyor at Cornerstone Building Certification. I have been part of the residential building industry as a Private Building Certifier for over 14 years. Prior to his time in the building sector, I spent over 12 years in the manufacturing industry as Trade Qualified Sheetmetal Worker. I am married to Rebekah and share my family life with 3 children, Kye, Jesse and Mia and have been attending NBC for over 3 years.
Jeff Luhrs
I am a CPA engaged as Principal in my own Public Practice established in 1996. Professionally I've worked in the area of Compliance and Taxation Services for small to medium business clients since 1990. I am currently the Head of Finance at NBC.
Luke Geary
I originally came to The Salvation Army through Auburn Corps in Sydney, where I went on to set up a free law firm for people in need and which ultimately became Salvos Legal. I, together with my family Heather, Jake & Cecelia made the move to Brisbane from Sydney in late 2017 and haven’t looked back! These days, I am a lawyer specialising in NFP / Charities law and have been one of the chief lawyers for The Salvation Army for over 10 years.
Kathryn Luxford
I am a wife and a mother of 2 beautiful children. I have lived on the northside my whole life and have attended NBC since its opening. I am passionate about leadership development. Every holiday you will find me camping with my family and friends. It is exciting to be part of this great church.
