Asylum Refugee Services

About us

The Salvation Army Asylum Seeker and Refugee Service (known as The Salvation Army Migrant and Refugee Service until 2010) located in Brunswick, Melbourne, has been helping people seeking asylum with emergency relief, material aid, casework, chaplaincy and employment support since July 2010.

This specialised service of The Salvation Army is specially designed to deliver crucial support to people living in the community on asylum seeker bridging visas. Assistance provided can include shopping gift cards for emergency relief, as well as necessities such as food, clothing, hygiene packs and household items for individuals or families seeking help.

Our services

Each year, hundreds of asylum seekers visit our service in Brunswick for emergency relief — items such as vouchers, clothing and material aid. Along with providing basic necessities to those vulnerable and facing disadvantage, we also offer casework services.

Our aim

We work with vulnerable individuals and families, to help them find sustainable solutions to their challenges, and consequently, our caseworkers are instrumental in achieving this goal.

Along with providing basic necessities to those who are experiencing financial hardship we also offer casework services.

Below are some of the services and support offered at our site:
