Parramatters - 10th December 2021

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to continue our Advent series this week as everyone is invited to join us for worship live and in person at 9:30am. Throughout December, we will join together, focusing on our series "Away in a Manger" - celebrating the Christmas Carols that help us to remember and anticipate the coming of our promised Saviour. 

There is no need to register for church, and all are welcome to join us!

Carols by Candlelight 
Join us this Sunday evening at 6pm for our Carols by Candlelight. We can't wait to share the evening with you as we celebrate Christmas. Our ensemble, timbrels and brass ensemble will lead us in carols. 

Electronic candles will be provided upon entry, and we invite you to bring a contribution to our Gift Card Offering. 

Kids Church & Mini God Squad
This Sunday will be our final Kids Church & Mini God Squad for 2021 and our kids will be celebrating with a party! 

Christmas Cheer
We are very excited to invite you to participate in our Christmas Cheer project in a variety of different ways. 
1. You can volunteer to help distribute toys/vouchers on our distribution days. We need volunteers on 20, 21 & 22 December from 9:30am-2:30pm. Lunch and morning tea will be provided to volunteers on these days. 
2. You can join us for our set up and toy unwrapping/sorting evening on Thursday 16 December at 7pm. A light supper will be provided.

Christmas Day Offering
Money given in corps and mission expressions across Australia as part of this year’s Salvation Army Christmas Day ‘Overseas Appeal’ offering is to be used in Malawi to help replace unhygienic, unsanitary and rundown toilet facilities as part of the WASH project in Karonga District.

We invite you to consider contributing to our offering on Christmas Day as we join with Salvos across Australia in support of the Malawi Territory. You can bring your offering on Christmas Day, or request an envelope from Margaret Robinson if you are unable to contribute on the day. 

Jemma Battersby
This week Jemma was named House Vice Captain at Kings Langley Public School. Congratulations, Jemma! We are praying for you as you take on this leadership position at school next year. 

Graduates
Congratulations to our HSC Students - Zoe Entwistle, Natasha Rudd, Sebastian Browning and Adam Bust - who have completed their exams and have graduated over the past few weeks. We are proud of you and excited to see what the future holds! 

Christmas Collection/Gift Wrapping
We have been given the opportunity to collect at Carlingford Court from 11-17 December, and to gift wrap at Parramatta Westfield on 18 & 22 December. The rosters will be up in the foyer from this Sunday. Please help out if you can!

Christmas
Throughout December we have many opportunities to be interacting with our wider community. Please pray for the many ways we will be engaging with people over this season. As we distribute Christmas Cheer, as our Band play carols, as we collect and gift wrap may we each shine the light of Jesus.

Community Connection Worker
We are very sad to inform you that Sarah Taufaao, our new Community Connection Worker, has resigned and concluded her employment with The Salvation Army on Wednesday 8th December.

While we are disappointed with this news we understand her reasons for moving on. Our officer team worked with HR to try and retain Sarah T, and while HR were extremely helpful and accommodating, Sarah’s previous employer offered her a wonderful opportunity. 

Please pray for our officer team as we once again navigate the recruiting process. If you are interested in the role, please speak to Kylie or Sarah.
