NAIDOC Week NAIDOC Week celebrations are held around Australia every year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The theme for NAIDOC Week this year is ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ It is a call for all Australians to take responsibility for change, while recognising those who have already done so.
This NAIDOC Week, we commit ourselves in prayer and practice to this land of Australia and its people, seeking reconciliation, unity and equity. Whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, we will Get up and care for people! Show up and create faith pathways! Stand up and build healthy communities! We will speak up and work for justice! Inspired by the love of Jesus we will take action to see all Australians flourish.
We invite you to join Commissioners Janine and Robert Donaldson for this month's Connections video. This month, the Commissioners are joined by Shirli Congoo, General Manager Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander team, as they discuss the history and importance of NAIDOC Week.
