THE Hastings celebrated national Volunteers Week and it reminded members of Port Macquarie's Salvation Army of how vital volunteers are.
Major Sue McGuigan, Salvos Chaplain, said they are looking for more volunteers to bring richness to the lives of those in the community they serve.
"The Salvation Army Port Macquarie and Wauchope Family Stores are always looking for new volunteers," Major McGuigan said.
"Whether it's a few hours or a few days each week, it all makes a difference.
"Help us create a great experience for our customers and make our stores look great and run smoothly. Help us organise donations, select, price and prepare great quality stock for the sales floor."

And The Salvation Army Bethany Aged Care is looking for volunteers to bring enjoyment to lives of residents.
This can be through one on one visiting and chatting; helping someone write their life story; being a bus driver for outings; bringing skills as an artist, crafter, musician, singer, gardener, helping with activities, or running a small group.
"We will require a "meet and greet" to get to know you; a police check (by us) and an application to be filled out," Major McGuigan said.
