The activities we offer at Preston Salvation Army

At The Salvation Army, people of all ages and backgrounds feel they can belong and participate in healthy community activities. We offer a place where you can connect with a family of people and have a sense of belonging. A place where you can begin to enjoy all that God has for you; a place where everyone has an opportunity to contribute positively within the community.

Community Activities

Sunday Worship Service

We warmly invite you to join Preston Salvation Army on Sunday to explore faith, worship Jesus and find your purpose.

We meet regularly as a faith community to encourage one another, to learn, and to worship together. Our service offers great music, Bible scripture, interesting messages and a time to meet over refreshments. Please join us.

Sunday 10am

mainly music

A 30-minute session where parents/caregivers engage with their child in a mixture of music, movement, rhymes and action. Followed by morning tea and a time for carers to take a break while the children play. This program costs $3.00 per child ($5 per family)

Gems

Monthly mentoring that provides school-aged girls with Christian mentors and friends with whom they can journey.

Drop in we would like to meet you

Drop In Centre

Anyone is welcome to drop in and have a coffee, read the newspapers and sit with friends. "Drop In" is a safe place to relax and meet others.

Emergency Relief

The Community Service Centre provides emergency relief in the form of food parcels and vouchers as a way of assisting people who find themselves in difficult circumstances.

Bible Study and Fellowship Meal

Come and enjoy the gathering of people from all cultures and ethnicity, reading the Word and encouraging each other through time together over a meal, each Tuesday evening.

Tuesday 7 pm

Community Lunch

Every Thursday a light lunch is served at 12 noon. The meal is open to all, a cost of $4.00 per person. It is a safe place to relax and meet others.

Women's Fellowship

Opportunity for women to celebrate and support each other though social activities.

3rd Thursday of month 7:30pm

Music Groups

Our brass band, contemporary group and Youth and Children's choir are open groups that provide music for Sunday worship and community events.

Tuesday 7:15–10pm

Life Groups

People of all ages and backgrounds meet in smaller groups to encourage, support and assist each other in our daily walk with God.

Companion Club

Opportunity for men and women 55+ to meet at a designated hotel, or café for a meal and enjoy each others company.

Sunday activities

Kids Spiritual Development

Its important to us to see the children develop spiritually. To this end, children are encouraged to participate in our Sunday worship service before moving out to Bible-based activities that are age appropriate to their learning.

Sunday 10 am

Sunday School (Primary)

A program for children aged 3-7 years is run during the primary worship service. The children move out to a safe and caring environment to sing, play games, do craft activities and learn about faith.

Sunday 10:30 am

Junior Soldiers

A bible based discussion group for children 7-14 is run during the primary worship service. The children move out to a safe and caring environment to do activities and learn about faith.
