Over the past 10 years the precinct has become a major intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) hub for the Australian Defence Force with Air Warfare Centre, 92 Wing, and 1 Remote Sensor Unit located at the base. It also has a strong electronic warfare presence with Joint Electronic and 462 Squadron located at the precinct.
The Salvation Army Red Shield Defence Service set up its work here with the re-location of 7 RAR from Darwin to Adelaide in 2011. Edinburgh Defence Precinct has three RSDS representatives, Auxiliary Lieutenant Vaughan Agnew (Officer in Charge), Captain Peer Cathcart and Captain Gai Cathcart.
