DAY 1 - Tuesday 30th June 9:30am - 3:00pm
Library Launch & Sushi // Bento Cooking Class -- Our first day of School Holiday Program will kick off with the launch of the Imagination Library at Macquarie University, reading a book to a smaller child over a yummy hot chocolate. After that we will head to ‘Our Space’ Youth Hub in Eastwood to don our ‘master chef’ aprons and learn the art of Japanese cooking by making sushi and bento.
DAY 2 - Saturday 4th July 9:30am - 3:30pm
Family Fun Day at Field of Mars & Buffalo Creek Reserve -- On this ‘independence day’ all Families are welcome to join us for a wonderful day out on Saturday! Please bring your Bicycle, Skateboard or Scooter if you have one. For those who don’t it’s ok because the bus will also be going. We’ll start by riding to Buffalo Creek Reserve where they have a ton of activities and play equipment. Next we’ll bushwalk into the Field of Mars and go hunting for buried treasure before settling in for lunch and more freeplay! PLEASE NOTE: this is a FAMILY day, which means that parents, carers and younger siblings are welcome to attend. We will not provide food for the adults or supervision for the younger siblings. This will be the responsibility of the parent / caregiver.
DAY 3 - Monday 6th July 9:30am - 4:00pm
City Celebrations for NAIDOC Week -- Today we will celebrate our rich Indigenous history during NAIDOC week and head into the city on the train to learn more about the oldest living culture in the world! Through food (earth oven!), song, dance, art, entertainment, activities and games we will learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Come prepared with open hearts and hands, ready to engage and try new things.
DAY 4 - Friday 10th July 9:30am - 4:30pm
aMAZEing Adventures up the Central Coast -- Our final day of program will kick off with a Bus Trip to the ‘Amazement Fun & Farm Park’. We’ll be joined by our new friends from Avnet, a local business in Ryde, who are coming along to support the day and have a blast with us! Once we arrive there are gigantic mazes to explore, farm animals to pet, playgrounds and shows to enjoy. We also might have a ‘surprise’ visit from some old friends of ours (hint hint, nudge nudge!). PLEASE NOTE: This day is FREE for young people who regularly participate in Afterschool @ 47. This means they were present for at least 50% of the Afterschool Program, which ran on Tuesdays & Wednesdays during Term 2. Other children are welcome to come but parents will need to cover their cost - $10 per child.
