Schools
Shire Salvos offers a range of opportunities for school communities to engage with The Salvation Army and act for social justice. We warmly invite you to:
- Support your students’ well-being by partnering with us through our social services, programs and resources to address students needs and foster a sense of belonging and resilience
- Invite us to your school or visit us in person to engage in educational workshops, and learn how we respond to important social issues
- Connect with Shire Salvos and contribute to our on the ground community work
- Engage in our experiential and service-learning opportunities
- Partner with us, fundraise or volunteer
Introducing young people to concepts of social justice early allows them to inform their own values, lets them know they’re part of something bigger and inspires them to get involved. By developing an appreciation of the world around them, young people have an opportunity to learn that, whatever they’re going through, they’re not alone.

Olivia H - Chaplain K-6, Inaburra School says…
“We have so enjoyed partnering with the Salvos to teach our students about service to the community. Our students have been given the opportunity to see firsthand the impact that the Salvos have made in our local community. We have shared stories with our students and seen this impact their understanding about giving to those in need. Our school is thankful to the Salvos for the connection we have and how it guides us in opportunities to serve others.”

Michelle S - Head Teacher Wellbeing, Heathcote High says…
“We have had Salvation Army members facilitate small groups classes, focusing on strength and resilience across different cohorts, as well as counsellor's supporting one on one with students. The students have left glowing reviews of the staff that have worked with them, and being able to watch the students interact with the staff in such a positive light has been a privilege, and it has been reflected in the way they interact with each other, and the school staff.”

Rod S - The Scots College, Head of the Brighton Preparatory School says…
“For the past eight years, The Scots College Brighton Preparatory School has been privileged to partner with the Shire Salvation Army, a collaboration that reflects our shared Christian values of compassion, service, and humility. This partnership has provided our school community with meaningful opportunities to support the Red Shield Appeal through initiatives such as manning collection stations, running physical and digital door knocks, and hosting Red Day fundraisers at school. These activities have not only made a tangible difference in the lives of those in need but have also fostered a spirit of servant leadership and community among our boys and families.”
