Providing support to young people

We offer a range of high quality support for free to young people ages 12 - 25. 

We love walking alongside young people to help build a stronger community. And we are committed to supporting them to develop the skills and capacity to live healthy and independent lives. 

Reconnect Counselling

Reconnect is an individual counselling service that is committed to providing young people and families with the support they need to help restore healthy relations within the family and wider community. The young person is between the ages of 12-18, and are at risk of early home leaving or are homeless. Additionally, there are mental health concerns in the family and/or young person.

Community Kids Camp

Shire Salvos hosts two Community Kids Camps each year. The camp is open to primary school children in years 5 and 6. Register to learn more about our upcoming camps and what's involved. 

Breakfast or Lunch Program

Some families are struggling to provide meals in these tough economic times. With the goal of helping parents and giving each child a good start to the day, Shire Salvos partner with local schools to provide a nutritious meal to children. Our breakfast or lunch programs, ensures no one goes hungry for breakfast or at school. 

Youth Group

ONEighty youth is a youth group based in the Sutherland Shire, connected to Menai Salvation Army. We meet Fridays 7pm - 9pm (runs during school terms) at 11 Pilliga Place, Bangor.

Emergency Relief (Food and Material Assistance)

If you find yourself in crisis and are in need of material or financial assistance, The Salvation Army's may be able to provide practical assistance (bills, food, utilities and financial assistance). Please contact the Salvation Mary where you willl talk to a friendly and trained telephone support worker who will assess your situation and refer you to a local 'Salvos Connect' site to receive assistance. Please note that your circumstances will be assessed with regards to your needs and available resources.
