It has been wonderful to see the Streetlevel values being shown by community over the last few weeks on a variety of occasions. Community members have been really helpful within the centre by giving new members or others that don’t have an understanding of the services Streetlevel offer.
Just last week I observed one community member chatting to a new person and telling them about the free lunch on Thursdays as well as the showering and laundry facilities. It seems like such a small thing, but we love that our community are helping each other and welcoming and inviting others into this space – looking out for each other when they could easily just focus on their own problems.
Last year I was fortunate enough to attend the Streetlevel church Christmas party and see some of the other values we encourage being shown in a Christian context.
There were words of encouragement, laughter, joy and even some forgiveness when one person accidentally drank another’s drink! It has been so encouraging and heart-warming to see our values lived out by our community in different contexts across the Streetlevel community.
