The Timbrel is a well-known icon of The Salvation Army and is used as an instrument of praise to God during our Worship Services and as a means of attracting attention in the streets and shopping centres.
A great way for children to enjoy friendship and fun together, learning music through playing the Timbrel. Timbrel playing is a long-standing Salvation Army tradition! It combines music, rhythm and dance elements which are used as a way of praising God. Timbrel playing at Waverley Salvos has also formed a part of our history. Children who attend primary school or secondary school are welcome to join in on a term by term basis. Instruments (Timbrels) are provided or can be purchased.
All workers involved with children and youth activities have current "Working with Children" checks and have completed "Childsafe" training.
