FYRST (Follow-On Youth Recovery Support Team) is a support service for young people 12-25 years who would like to address their alcohol and drug issues.  FYRST also offers support to those who are completing, or have completed detox, rehab or are leaving detention.  It provides a mobile support team that can visit a client's home, meet at a cafe or pick up a client from local transport.

FYRST is a free service that offers flexible and individual support within a case management model.  Anyone can refer a person to FYRST, including young people who want to be supported through the service themselves.

The type of services that FYRST provides include:

  • Case Management
  • Relapse Prevention
  • AOD Education (including vaping & energy drinks).
  • Recovery Support
  • School Education Programs
  • Brief Counselling Intervention
  • Referrals to other support services.

FYRST can link clients up with other support systems such as:

  • Detox & rehab
  • Centrelink
  • Accommodation
  • Education and training
  • Employment
  • Court & legal support
  • Family support services

Families can also get assistance from FYRST with information, education, referrals and support.

FYRST now operates from Liverpool.
